ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

The meal plan charge appears on a student’s Accounts Receivable statement. These charges typically appear in August for Fall 2008 and December for Spring 2009.

Payments may be made at the Bursar’s Office in Bruff Commons or mailed to:

FIRST & SECOND-YEAR STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

All first and second-year students are required to participate in a meal plan for the ENTIRE academic year. A student's academic standing is not a consideration for their first or second-year requirement.

  • All first-year students who live in university residence halls are required to take a Carte Blanche meal plan.
  • All second-year students who live in university residence halls are required to take a Carte Blanche meal plan or Wavebuck$ meal plan.
  • First and second--year students who live off campus are required to carry, at minimum, the Pelican Plan .
  • Second semester first-year students who rush a recognized fraternity or sorority with a university approved meal plan may elect to change to a Wavebuck$ plan within the given time frame of meal plan changes.
  • All on-campus second-year students who are a member of a university recognized fraternity with an approved meal plan must enroll in a Wavebuck$, Carte Blanche or Greek meal plan.

No exceptions are granted to the mandatory student board requirement!

School of Continuing Studies Requirement:

  • All first-year students enrolled in the School of Continuing Studies that live on campus must be enrolled in a Carte Blanche plan.
  • All first-year students enrolled in the School of Continuing Studies that live off campus must be enrolled in a Wavebuck$, Carte Blanche or Pelican plan.

Transfer Student Requirement:

  • All transfer students* whether they reside on campus or off must enroll in a Wavebuck$, Carte Blanche or Pelican plan. The type of plan you are eligible for is determined by your classification.

* Assuming transfer student is classified as a first-year or second-year student.

DATES

The fall semester meal plan begins with breakfast on Saturday, August 23, 2008 and ends with the dinner meal on Monday, December 15, 2008. September 1, Labor Day, Bruff Commons Dining Room operates on weekend hours. Bruff will be closed for Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 through Sunday, November 30, 2008. Students may use their Greenbuck$, Wavebuck$ or Pelicanbuck$ at any Tulane Dining Services facility that is open.

The spring semester meal plan begins with breakfast on Saturday, January 10, 2009 and ends on Friday, May 8, 2009. Bruff will be closed for Mardi Gras Break, February 24, 2009 and for Spring Break, March 23 - 28, 2009. Students may use their Greenbuck$, Wavebuck$ or Pelicanbuck$ at any Tulane Dining Services facility that is open.

NOTE: Any changes in days or hours of operation will be updated onw ww.diningservices.tulane.edu.

BUCK$

Greenbuck$ associated with the Carte Blanche meal plans will roll over from the fall to spring semester only if the student is enrolled in a meal plan for the spring semester.

 

Wavebuck$ associated with the Wavebuck$ meal plan will roll over from the fall to spring semester only if the student is enrolled in a meal plan for the spring semester. The Bruff meals portion of this plan does not roll over.

 

Pelicanbuck$ associated with the Pelican meal plan will roll over to the spring semester without the student purchasing a new meal plan for Spring.

CONDUCT

Disruptive behavior, destruction of property or violation of any University policy or code of conduct will result in sanctions through the University Disciplinary Process. Such sanctions may include but are not limited to, barring a student from participating in the board plan without a refund.

Any attempt to fraudulently use the meal plan of another student will result in disciplinary action against both parties. Lost cards are replaced at the Tulane Card Office for a fee.

Food and equipment (including dishes & flatware) may not be removed from the Bruff Commons Dining Room. Violations of this rule are brought before the University Disciplinary Board.
